| Guidelines
Cackle really doesn't have 'rules' because much of what is listed is not permanent - there is a lot of lee way and exceptions, so we prefer to call it 'guidelines'. Cackle is pretty experimental so things may change and we may end up with permanent restrictions.

The necessity to apply is just to ensure that everyone's character is realistic; especially since Spotted Hyena's are not the type of animal commonly role-played. Application forum is pretty basic and short.

| Rogue Dunes
Although much of the Sahara Desert is compromised by dunes, a specific area of the desert has earned the name of 'Rogue' due to the violent sandstorms of the area. Just over the crest of these massive hills of sand is the fence surrounding the reserve which, because of the soil brought in to secure the fence posts, has many weeds and grasses growing all along its base.

| Omega Clan
Unclaimed Territory
This clan is essentially the weakest and smallest of the clans, and have been pushed to a territory in the worst part of the reserve. Much of the area they claim is desert and infertile, with hot days and bitter nights. Luckily they have access to the fertile lands near them to find prey and water.

| Eclipse Oasis
Considering the Sahara Desert is such a small part of the reserve, a single oasis has been created in the shape of an eclipsed moon. This watering hole is near to the Sahel desert and was already a partially emptied pool. After having water pumped into it, crawling grasses and small shrub surrounds the shoreline along with a few native trees. The undergrowth spreads for miles around the oasis, but gradually decreases the farther one gets from the water before disappearing altogether.

| Delta Clan
Unclaimed Territory
Situated within the belt seperating the deserts from the grassland, this clan has the negatives and positives that come along with living in a semi-desert environment. They are not the lowest of the low, but are basically the least dominant clan of the reserve; excluding the 'exiles.'

| Reserve Gates; North
On the north end of the reserve and in the middle of the Sahara desert is a pair of gates; one of two on the entire reserve. The humans like to use this gate most often, feeling that not as many hyenas will be here, and if there are, they hope it is the weaker ones. The gate is 10 feet tall and rises up above the rest of the fence enclosing the reserve, and is also electrified; unlike the rest of the enclosure.

| Jackalberry Plateau
As if seperating the Alpha and Beta Clans and surviving off of the resident rainforest, these Jackalberry trees create an indefinite line between the well defined grasslands and rainforest. These trees don't get much higher tha 20 feet with broad canopies and leathery leaves. Termites and their bounds are commonly found around these trees, an occasional food source for hyenas when prey is scarce.

| Beta Clan
Claimed Territory
Having the benefit of the rainforest at the southern most part of the reserve, the Beta Clan has the most ample amount of shade and water. Prey tend to stick to the outskirts of the trees, but it's perfect for ambushing.

| Dark Water
Just outside of the rainforest is a marsh-like land with thick mud, dirty water and tall patches of saw-blade grass. When there is water here it is very shallow and black looking because of the muddy bed; home to a lot of snakes and pesky insects. It completely dries up during the hotter months, creating a puzzle surface of hard dirt across the terrain.

| Neilos Trench
Named after the River Nile, this river was intentionally created by the Game Wardens to help support the grasslands and surrounding areas. It runs directly through the reserve all the way to the other side, but is said to dead end at a near-by watering hole. Crocodiles cannot get through the fence which is buried deep down into the river bed, but the Neilos River needs constant maintence to avoid it flooding, drying up and becoming clogged by debris.

| Alpha Clan
Claimed Territory
This clan has unlimited access to the large grasslands which make up most of the reserve. They are provided with ample prey and the man-made stream connecting to the Nile River. Although the most dominant clan, their location makes their territory extremely vulnerable to fires.

| Reserve Gates; South
A lot like the gates on the north end of the reserve, these gates are tall. However, this entrance doesn't get used very much other than to release new hyenas. The gate is also not electrified since it's in the middle of a rainforest, but instead has thick layers of barbed wire.
